Rice is Life

From planting the seeds to harvesting the ripe grain, Rice of Life tells the story of rice and of the Balinese people, in a beautiful, poetic way. In Bali where the eels slip through the mud and dragonflies flutter overhead, farmers plant seedlings in the wet rice field, or 'saweh'. Each plant is then crowned with flowers, and become healthy kernels. When the harvest is finished, farmers give thanks to the goddess of rice for a successful crop that gives them life.
