There Was a Tree

“And the green grass grew all around, all around.” The well-known cumulative children’s song “The Green Grass Grew All Around” has been adapted into this colorful picture book. It tells the story of a beautiful umbrella acacia tree and how it grows to become a beautiful element of nature in an African setting. The author utilizes colorful pictographic rebus icons to illustrate the repeated words in the text which makes it fun and easy for young readers to follow along and read the story.
