The Mango Tree

When Hidayah is born, a mango seed is planted in the garden of her family home by her grandmother. As she grows, so does the
tree. Hidayah forms a close connection with the tree as it becomes her confidant, and she misses it when she leaves home to study and travel. When she returns home, she despairs when the tree is chopped down to make way for development.
