Singing Away the Dark

This lovely early-winter-morning story tells of a little girl’s mile-long walk through a dark forest to her school bus stop. Alone and cold, she calls on the “big, old trees” her “silent soldiers” to help her find the courage within her. The little girl then sings a song of confidence amidst the tall and strong trees to keep herself from getting scared.
